: The paint was never rubbed out at that time . I am trying to rub it out now but rubbing compound is not working all that well . Any suggestions ?Thanks in advanceDan

If possible, you need to figure out if its straight or acrylic enamel. Acrylic might come out a little bit but not much. Old enamel usually won't do anything. You might try a light buffing with Finess-It and a polish bonnet. Try a small test are first because it might burn the paint and make it look worse than it already does. My experience with old enamel is that what you see is usually what you got!! Might try some hand rubbing with some Maquires cleaner, polish and glaze.
