: What I was hoping for was that someone that painted there 28 leatherback would post to this board the # and MFG. of the paint they used and how close it was to the paint book, for us guys with drivers that should be close nuff or give us a good starting point. THANKS JW

If you are doing a driver, and want the urethane durability, but dont have the color code, then go to a ppg dealer, who has the original mixing formulas for laquer, and get some laquer mixed in your colors. Then spray a small panel, about 4 inches square, several coats, to get the color established.Take this back to the PPG dealer, and have him read it with his computer matcher thing. (if he dont have one, he can sent it to the main office by his paint rep)Specify what type of paint you want the formula for, and the machine will duplicate the color in urethane.I just did this for a 40 ford dash.I also used this machine to get a match for a 50 F5, by sending in the glove box door, and having them read the color that was under the data plate since 1950.I just compounded the area lightly to remove dirt, and the match was great.
