: This is a question regarding coil connections.I always thought that the black wire went from the driver's side of terminal box to the driver's side of coil (-) and that the red wire went to the passenger side of coil (+).I was watching the Model A video "ROADSIDE TROUBLE SHOOTING" and it showed the red wire on the driver's side and the black on the passenger side of the coil.Which is correct?I have a coil with the welded on bracket so it can't be reversed and it looked as though the car in the video also had the original style coil.

Coil conections ALWAYS are the same as the battery connections....if you have a Positive ground battery system then the Ground of the coil (the points) is also Positive...if you have a later car with a Negative ground system then the Negative post of the coil goes to the points..(ground)

Standard Oil Trade-named this"Reverse Coil Polarity"
