: I am a new proud owner of a '29 Coupe, my first Model A.I am trying to determine it's exact body style. The car is been restored by a previous owner and the top is not original. : It is black, long grain vinyl and cover the the full top and back. The previous owner stated the car did not originally have a rumble seat. My limited research shows this to be a Special Coupe, body style 49A. : My question: what is the difference between a Special Coupe (49A) and a Standard Coupe (45A)?Is there any way to determine the original body style from the VIN? : If anyone knows the details or where I can find out I would appreciate a reply. The description given by Mr. Sturges is accurate. We have an August '28 49-A also.If you have the tack strips across the roof and behind the quarter windows, contact me prior to removal, as I can offer some advice.Same goes for the belt moulding around the back. |
