: I live in a "wet" area, East Texas and I get 52 inches of rain a year.My 30 town sedan is stored in in a closed metal barn with a concrete slab. However, I have high humidity everywhere, including the inside of my barn.Long ago I was told one could keep the inside of a car dry and mildew free by keeping a 40 watt light bulb on inside the car all the time. Anyone have long term experience with this? What about the light from the bulb, does it affect the interior? What about spray painting the light bulb with black paint, would that help? thanks for the help, James

I used to keep a light on in my boat for that exact reason...and it worked well...although I see West Marine has some small dehumidifiers that are built for the inside of boats...would work well for cars too...course in California...all we ever get is sunshine so we all drive roadsters...and hang out at the beach all day...Ha!
