: On inspection I found that the bracket was originally of the "T shaped two hole" versions described by Bill. Also, a triangular shaped piece with a single hole "punched" in it (not drilled) was found to be welded to the "T" shaped original bracket by a none too neat weld.

: As to the bracket being a carryover from the Model "T", I can't speak to that except that it is very likely since a good portion of the square cab truck bodies are also from that source.

: I would be curious now as to the use of the third hole.It is conceivable that the third hole was duplicated in the wooden block and another bolt was used.Anyone have any information on this?

: I hope my little investigation is revealing to at least someone else other than me.As you all are aware, the trucks are among the hardest of Ford Model A's to "type".

: Best regards,
: Joe

I am investigating the connection to the T pickup, and posted an inquiry on a model T board.I got a reply stating that they were available, but pricey.I am going to Bennington Vermont to a car show saturday, and will see what the flea market has to offer. For now, I can drive it without a tail light.(my town has lots of cows and chickens, but few people)
