: Kevin; After reading this posting, I went home to check my 30 Tudor and sure enough there was the play that you described.Would this explain the different throttle (hand or foot) you have after the engine is warmed up?I have noticed after the engine is warm that the idle is a lot slower than went cold. Also, could this be the place that I hear a whisling or something like a vacumm leak sound?Since the wear seems to be on the shaft, would it be wise just to order an oversize and turn it down to fit? Thanks for the response.Frank

Frank,
Cast iron doesn't wear well with brass, the housing is more than likely worn too, for sure fit it with a drill shaft and check for out of round.
Good luck,
GW
