If you are talking of re-installing an original, I usually try to squeeze the opening on the shell a slight amount to make it a tight fit. Then I use a little amount of silicon sealer on the back side and in the opening and squeezer' in. On a repo you are much better off to buy the one's that have the small screw, nut and keeper on the back. Then use a little silicon as above and gently tighten it in. If the original is loose in the hole, you may have to epoxy it in and hope for the best!
