: I have what i think is an original Spartan horn. I have learned the armature and one field coil need rewinding. A local shop wants a fortune (new price) to repair.I'm looking for a NOS horn or a source to provide repairs or maybe a used replacement.Any help appreciated.

Suggest strongly that you try Bill Randall at The Horn Shop in Rome, NY (tel: 315-336-8841).I have talked to Bill at length about his restoration procedures. The cleaning/rewinding/new brushes/painting of the drive motor plate, etc. (and testing) of the drive motor will probably run you $60-75, plus shipping/insurance costs. He's rebuilt a ton of them, so he knows what he's doing. You will also find him at Hershey, and other fine establishments.

Tell him you were referred to him by the Houston Mafia...

Good Luck!
