Hi,Woodies are such great Model As. It is nice to hear that you intend to preserve yours. Since you will not wax the wood before you varnish it, the wax you use will depend on the varnish. The best bet for woodies, since many varnishes are not as hard as automotive paint, is to use a pure wax with NO abrasive in it and wax often enough to keep it from needing cleanig. The newer poly urethane finishes are harder of course.Be careful when picking the wax to use to pick one that will not leave a chalky residue in crevices. The joints in the wood and the places were wood overlaps wood tend to be difficult to polish so a no residue wax helps alot. Also get everyone in the family a new toothbrush and put the old ones on the shelf with your wax.

I am sure that you will turn out a beautiful A. Ray C

: I have a 29 woody, this car was restored by my father-in-law
: Ray Matthews in 1968,69.This winter I am going to sand the wood and apply SPAR varnish. Is there a wax that is used to protect the wood finish. (Johnsons?)
