Michael,
Congratulations on your Coupe. In addition to what Bob has said, the Special Coupes were produced starting on 10 July 1928 and were built for about a year. Special Coupes replaced the Standard Coupes during that period. There are no production figures on the Specials as they were listed with the Standard Coupes. I am restoring a July 1928 Special Coupe now and there are some uniques trim pieces around the top material. There is a trim piece that extends from the back end of the rain gutter to the belt rail molding. The belt rail molding extends from one door around the rear under the rear window and connects in at the other door opening. Both of these were two piece moldings. Check to see if your car has a date stamped into the firewall. It will found on the drivers side gas tank just above the flange where the gas tank and lower cowl panel are bolted together. Sometimes the date was stamped up side down. Oh, almost forget it is on the engine side of the firewall. If your car has a date and it is between 10 July 1928 and July 1929, then you probably have a Special.
Dave
