PS If ya hadn't mettled w/ da system, ya wouldn't be in this fix!!
PPS, pullingA dist. with short shaft is fairly easy, unless you have the clamp on the pop-out cable, takes less time than this discussion! The slot is off-centered usually, so ya just pop it back in after the tightening.
