G'Day Jack,
First off, ensure that you've got a fairly thin paper gasket or the copper cladded asbestos type. Slide the gasket down over the studs then place a paper match on both outer edges of the gasket next to the studs. Slide the outlet onto the studs & tighten down evevly to the correct cylinder head torque.
