Jay,

It's common here in California to find cars with August engines that were built in late Oct.-early Nov.I would expect you would have the two-piece running board shield.If your front fenders are spot welded to the quarter shields (typical of 1930), I'd expect the build date to be prior mid Oct.If you find you have '31 type front fenders with a bolted on quarter shield your pickup would have been built anytime from early Oct.

If your pickup is unrestored or it was restored using many of the original parts, The Judging Standards cover many changes throughout the car that could narrow you down to the month.Although many chassis changes occurred in specific weeks, we generally rounded them off to the nearest month.
