: I was talking to a Model "A" guy in my area and he said I should go to the 1999 National Meet in Lancaster and get involved in judging Model A's.I have a copy of the MARC Judging Standards on order but is there anything else I should do.I've never been to a national meet before although I have looked over a Henry Ford winning car pretty closely.Any advice on how to get my foot in the door??
: Thanks

Mark,
Get copies of the judges test sheets that are available from MAFCA (for either the particular areas you are interested in judging or get the whole set).Let the Chief Judge at the meet know that you want to become a judge and he will assign you to a judging team headed by a certified judge. If possible act as an apprentice judge at a regional meet before the national to gain experience (again let the Chief Judge at the meet know you want to help). The requirements for becoming a Judge, Senior Judge and Master Judge are published in the front of the Judging Standards. These have changed in last few years and more actual experience is required at higher levels (national meets) than previously.
If you want more details, send me an email.
John
