: I recently aquired a 1929 town sedan. My plans are to rebuild from ground up. The car is 95% original and in fair condition. It has never had any restoration done to it, in side or out. I have been collecting the standard catologs for model A's . My question is, is there a manual or book thatI can aquire that will help guide me through this project? I am not restoring for show but would like to keep it correct and original when possible. I'm having a ball so far!

:thanks Jerry

Jerry,
Welcome to the hobby. The "How To Restore" series is now up to 5 volumes and every one of them is worth their cost. There is good info there. The Judging Standards are also a "must have".There are also a couple of other books that are good resources.Jim Schild's Model A Restorer's Shop Manual and Les Andrews Model A Mechanics Handbook. Some of these will overlap in info but each have good information/photos or other that will give you a new perspective.
You might also want to check out the Town Sedan Club.It is a special interest chapter of MAFCA and is dedicated to the Town Sedan body style. It started out as the '29 Town Sedan Club but has expanded to include all Model A Town Sedans.Jan and Werner Langenbach put out a quarterly newsletter that keeps you up with all things Town Sedan. The back issues have a good bit of details on the '29 especially.
Their website is shown below and it is also listed in the MAFCA chapters listing on the MAFCA website "www.mafca.com".
I have had my '29 Town Sedan for 30 years and have really enjoyed the "big car" (Definitely the "Crown Victoria" of 1929!!)
If you have any specific questions on the '29 send me an e-mail.
Good luck and have fun,
John
