G'Day Tom, Before you go spending up a storm on a tranny tear down, I'd go the route of checking the indent springs & the actual indents on the shifter shafts. If the transmission can be held in gear fairly easily, you may find that replacing or re-filing the indents in the shafts &/or replacing the plungers may do the trick. The up-side is that you only need to lift the shifter cover off to do the job & it can be done without having to remove the gear lever spring. Regardz DJ. OutOfAfrica A's : While driving up an incline in 2nd gear, my 1930 Model A 4 door sedan, slips into neutral. I can prevent this by holding the gear shift lever, but I'm afraid I may have some serious problems developing. Can anyone offer any advice? |
