Hi Hugh,

If you want your paint job to last a few generations, a long lasting solution would be to call Restomotive Labs. Inc., 1-800-457-6715, and ask for a catalog and their printed "Directions for Use" of POR 15.

They give great technical advice by phone, and have outstanding products. I would suggest getting the POR 15 six-packs, (each of the 6 jars covers 12 square feet, and all 6 cover 72 square feet), and read all directions carefully. It can be brush applied, preferably with regular hardware store bought nylon or other synthetic inexpensive brushes, as opposed to their natural bristle brushes which shed bristles. The POR 15, "Silver" contains metal particles to fill pitted metal.

After the POR 15 is on, sand it with a green or grey kitchen scouring pad to remove the gloss and spray on "Eastwood's Chassis Black" in spray cans, 1-800-345-1178 as a top coat.

Remember preparation of the chassis metal is 99% of the paint job, i.e., all old paint has to be removed, metal cleaned, etc.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
H.L. Chauvin
