I've had very good results with an 6V alternator and electronic ignition. I've used both the Nu Rex and the Remund Ignitor systems without and complaints. I prefer the Remmund system only because it does not have a Blanck box to deal with, just two wires from the unit and one to the battery. If you don't want to spend the money on electronic ignition go with the modern upper plates, Nu Rex makes a very good one. It gets the condenser out of the heat from the exhast manifold, not one of Henry's better ideas.

While Henry's lady has been a vey dependable car for the last 70 years, there will be other things that will require your time and attention. A modern alternator and points or electronic ignition need not be one of them.
