: I picked up a 1950 ford flathead v-8 and am interested in putting it into my 31 pickup. what is required to do so ?

Neat stuff! you will need to find a bellhousing from a 50's
truck along with water pumps from the same model. The bellhousing will allow you to bolt a pre 40 floor shift box
to your 'late model flathead' this will bolt to the A torque
tube and you would have to fabricate motor mounts to suit the pumps, and a mount for the gearbox. Hydraulic brakes would be a must, almost a bolt on using 39 to 48 brakes, of course you
would need to make pedal mounts for clutch and brake.
Recore radiator with 4 outlets to suit the flattie. I did a radiator for the same swap years ago and we used a radiator
core from a Model B truck, worked fine. I suggest you see your local radiator shop new core would be the way to go.
Im sure there are many small hiccups you will find along the way but thats part of the fun and I am sure that other
viewers will add something I've forgotten.
