I know where your coming from because I am at the same stage with my 30 pickup. Check out this link ... lot's of good advice concerning paints and durability etc.

Good luck

Jay

: I have sandblasted the frame and front and rear end on my '30 driver and need some advice on the type of paint to use. I know that black is the color, but I'm not sure if I want gloss or semigloss.

: Also, my research shows that the types of paint commonly used vary greatly from the rustoleum hardware store types to the high tech/high priced auto paints that can kill you if you don't have fresh air breathing systems.

: Does anyone have experience with some middle ground type of paint that will hold up reasonably well and allow me to spray with my old fashioned mask type respirator?

: I'm not looking for a half way job, but my main concern is rust protection and reasonable cosmetic appeal.

: Thanks for any advice, Michael D
