Ken,
Sending out the radius arm maybe extreme especially if the perches are stuck in the axle. Building up the ball with weld and grind to profile takes about and hour with the arm out of the car. The diameter is 1 1/2 inches. The perches are more than likely stuck so it will probably be easier to remove the whole axle assembly and spring. The spring clamps and the ball hold everything in, of coarse the link (brake and steering) has to be unhooked. If you are not sure your welding or don't have a welder, take it to a local shop, this is a piece of cake for them.

If this sounds too much there is a after market rubber ball replacement that works good that is available from Snyder's or Bratton's.
