Air-Conditioning for the "A"

Touring in Texas summer heat takes real dedication. This year Grand-ma and I decided we were no longer that dedicated
even though we love to travel with the club. The choice's were clear, stay home, drive the modern, or air-condition the "A". Several members have chosen the latter and after talking with a few of them we decided to follow suit. I purchased the unit in kit form ( everything included ) from Ken Davis Model A Parts and installed the system in just over 12 hours. I'm a shade bush mechanic at best and managed just fine. We haven't missed a single tour all summer including the Texas Tour in
Georgetown ,where we logged 640 miles. The outside temp. has reached 110 degs. but we no longer notice, until gas stops.
I'm not posting this to brag, rather to let others know a
moderatly priced and very effective system is available and can be installed with a few simple tools and a little patience. I'm no expert on Model A's but my stock engine pulls the unit with no problem. If I've lost any performance, I can't tell and at normal idle speed it's hard to tell when the compressor is turned on. Everyone is amazed when they see how well it performs. The gals in our group, after seeing my wife wearing a sweater, have started dropping hints and it looks as if the rush is on. Several men have told me, it's the first time my wife ever wanted to spend money on the car.
Hope this helps someone enjoy the summer more.
