: Did you rebuild the ball at the end of the shifter? This gets lots of wear and will cause the trans to jump out of gear. It needs to be welded up and reground to the right size.
In addition to the ball that John is talking about, I would also check the spring loaded balls and detents on the shafts the shifting forks are on in the trans cover. They could be worn which could allow the shaft to move.
