How ot clean a gas tank

I recently bought a 29 model a coupe that had been in storage for about 5 years. Looking in the gas tank I see a lot of gum and tranish and a small amount of trash. Without removing the tank from the car what is the best way to clean out the tank. Is there a solution I can put in the tank to clean it. I really aprreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!
