: Sounds like a blown head gasket between the water jacket and one (or more)of the cylinders. "A" heads tend to crack between #2, and #3 in the area of the distributer. A leaky water pump seal can also draw in air but sounds like you've got a bigger problem than that. I'm assuming that the new radiator wasn't a 2-row cheapie like Whitney used to sell.

i think you are right.. there should be also smoke out of the car when you change the gears....
