: I just purchased my first Model A (1930 Tudor Sedan). After showing the A to a friend of mine, he advised me to replace the glass. He states you have old plate glass that could kill in a bad accident. My friend also owns a Model A Tudor and has hands on experience.I believe it is a very good idea because my car is a solid driver. As a new ModelA owner I am open to any advice, much to learn. : Thanks Everyone, If any of you attended the 1990 MAFCA National Meet in San Diego, you got a chance to look first hand what happens to glass in a Model A that isn't safety glass. If you weren't there, a beautiful '29 fordor sedan was readended and suffered extensive damage. An authentic restoration it was, down to the plate glass side windows. The site of those jagged edges was enough to make everyone check there glass. If you can't tell by looking, try tapping the window in question with your ring, or any light metallic tool, and you will hear a distinct dull sound from safety glass, where plate glass has a distinct glassy (high pitched tink) sound.
