Gas tank pinstrip

It's great to have this up again. It didn't make for a good Monday to find it not working.
I have a late 31 deluxe coupe that was originally black with a applegreen pinstrip. The deluxe has the tank stripped on the sides of the instrument panel, mine had this strip. I am changing it to the chickle and copra drap colors that was also offered. From what I can figure from the judging std, the chicle, lighter color, is on the main body with the darker copra on the top and belt rails with a straw pinstrip. The straw contrasts the darker copra which looks good.
Now the question, does the strip that goes on the tank go on the chickle cause the tank is the rest of the body color or are the raised panels painted copra then stripped? To me the straw on the chickle doesn't look right and I haven't seen a car to figure this out.
