Inserted bearings are nice but, as Ron Kelly will tell you, they are to be run with a pressure oiling system - IE a drilled crank, etc. As Ron will tell you (an excellent machinist, by all accounts), "for a phenomenol fee". You need to have a good reason for wanting inserts - building a racing engine, or planning to do really serious road-tripping on a regular basis. Babbit has been good enough for the rest of us for 60-odd years, now, and will probably be good enough for another 60. We do keep babbitted rods in stock in the usual sizes - std, .010, .020, and even (ugh) .030 - that we do here. We also insert engines and do full rebuilds. I'm sure that our drilled, pressured, engines are just as (or nearly as) expensive as Ron's and we are ALMOST as slow - but not quite.
