: I recently learned about a 1930s high performance carburater known as a "Simmons". Has anyone else heard about these carbs?

I have a 1931 Western Auto catalog and the Simmons carb was available at their stores during that time.I would say that it was high performance, but more like "Improved" performance.Steve Pargeter belongs to our club and he did a tech session covering the different Model A carb. The next flea market I went to I was able to buy a Simmons carb, although I haven't tried it.I think the big differences are how the carb is vented which improves flow through the venturi under a wide range of conditions.I'm glad to here that Paul has had good success with his.
