DJ, I meant to respond earlier but couldn't find anything definite. I talked with a friend with Canadian cars and he was fairly confident his '30 roadster had a blue emblem but couldn't confirm yet. His 20,000 mi. early '28 has the dark one. I had him look up the part # and they showed A-8212-A1 as the part # for all four years, so they didn't get specific like the U.S.. We show A-8212-A,B,C for nickel, chrome, stainless, resp. He also had heard that they used different suppliers.

I was hoping they used AF- prefix on chassis parts, but turns out only on some. Canada produced three different versions of Model A's. AC prefix for Canadian LH drive cars, ACF for Canadian RH drive, and AF for RH drive for foreign export only. I'm not sure but I believe the AF models are the wood filled roadsters and phaetons, and the AC & ACF models were steel like U.S. models.

I had hoped the answer would be in the mix of models but no evidence either way. I probably just confused the issue even more, but I am now curious which of the three models you are working with.

: G'Day All,
:Here's a question for those of you involved either directly or indirectly in the compilation of the Judging Standards, or owners of original 1930 model Canadian cars. From what I understand of the Canadian supplement to the Standards,& I quote:-
: " From early 1928 through January 1929 the Canadian radiator shell emblem was an extremely dark blue vitreous enamel that appeared to be black in color. The edge & script were nickel plated.
: In January 1929, the vitreous enamel background of the radiator emblem was eliminated. This style continued in production until late 1930. A chrome finish was added in 1930."
: The Standards then go on to explain about the 1931 stamped stainless emblem & show a plain looking photograph of aa emblem. The way I read the above is that the 1930 emblem was just plain nickel or chrome plated with no painted background, yet I found traces of a very dark paint on two emblems which I have, although I couldn't ascertain exactly whether they were originally nickel or chrome plated (I would guess nickel by the condition of the plating). Can anyone enlighten me as to what is correct, as I see most owners emblems before 1931 have a blue background here.
