Richmond Plant Update

Posted by Rick Botti on January 07, 1998 at 18:15:16

FYI,
I paid a visit to the Richmond Museum toady and spent two hours going through the information stored there. Its a little over whelming and thats great! I saw the first car produced at the plant and it looks nice. It is a Standard Coupe made on August 1st 1931. They even had pictures of the opening day Ceremonies and the cars on the assembly line. Looks like this is going to keep me busy for sometime to come.

BTW, The Richmond Plant replaced the San Franciso facility in 1931, Milpitas later replaced Richmond in 1955.

Trivia, Scenes form the moivie "Tucker" were filmed in the Richmond plant in 1988.
