: There are typically three locations. There is always an engine number located above the water inlet on the driver's side of the block just under the head gasket line. There is also a number on the top rail of the frame on the driver's side under the body and splash apron just between the front body bolt, and the bracket for the Brake rod anti-rattlers. There is also sometimes a number on the extreme rear of the driver's side frame rail. The Motor# and the frame # originally matched.
mine, 573171, has the first two, engine & under splash apron but nothing on the rear frame rail. I also have a mfg. date that is upside down.
