1928 Pickup Headlights

My '28AR roadster pickup has what I believe are foreign made chrome headlight buckets. These are the correct shape but the chrome is pitted (small pits all over). I would like to paint them black or would consider purchasing others. Any "how to" advice would be appreciated. Also, I need a drum tail light for this vehicle. Thanks in advance for your help.
