: I bought a Vintiques mirror that mounts through the upper hinge pin on the driver's door. The tapered pin that comes with the mirror is too wide to fit the existing hole.I asked the supplier what I should do and was told to ream out the hole.I don't think so!Any suggestions?I would like to mount the mirror and possibly get one for the passenger side as well if I can solve this problem.

I sell Vintiques 28-9 hinge mirrors and what the guys are telling you is correct the pin you should have is a pin with threads on the bottom. It sounds like you may have a 1932 mirror as they use a tapered pin that is much bigger than the Model A. I hope this helps
