Hi Ted.According to an old manual I have called "Ford Facts" which has full-scale illustrations of Model A hardware, the 1928-1931 Tudors, coupes, closed-cab pickups and deluxe delivery used the same door hinge pins.

The pin was standard part number 852 and had the following dimensions:
Diamater = 15/64"
Length = 1 13/16"

Measure the pin that came with the mirror you just got and see if it's the correct diameter.Many Model A suppliers carry oversized pins (if the holes have been reamed) and perhaps some carry longer ones to accomodate the hinge mirrors.

I agree with you that you should NOT ream any holes unless absolutely necessary.Finding the correct size pin makes more sense. Hope this helps.
