Bill,
Besides the serial number which has already been told how to locate, if you want to know how early yur car is, look at the firewall on the drivers side just above the top bolted joint. On '28 and '29 cars, there is an assembly date stamped. For example, 9 25 29. It may even be stamped upside down. This will give you some idea on how early your car is.
