Dear Dennis,
Thank you much ! I am just getting into Model A collecting and have much to learn. Your info will be quite helpful to meinvehicle I.D. and further study. Thanks again !
: Over the past couple of years, I have combined my resources with those of many others across the United States to form a list of what those body tag numbers really stand for. The following is a listing of what I have and I hope it will be of help to some of you. Let me first give an example of how this system works to those of you that may not be familiar with it. My '29 Murray Town Sedan's body tag reads M60177. By checking the list below you can see that M601 designates a 155A ('29 Murray) and the 77 is my body production number. Yes, I own the 77th Town Sedan ever produced! So, if you want to know your body production number, the numbers after the prefix are the actual body number. I am also missing the prefixes for the 60B, 60C, 160C, 30 - 31 station wagon, 30 - 31 Murray fordoor, and all coupes, roadsters, and phaetons. If anybody has those prefixes, I would appreciate an E-mail with them. Thanks.
