: I would like information on the after market over drive units made for Model A's. I have a early production 1930 'A', coments, availablity, price etc. would be appreciated.

If you do any amount of touring I can only say that once you drive a Model "A" with overdrive you will never go back. (Opinions will vary with mileage) I personally use a borg warner that was made by Burt Hiller from Washington (now Bill Swigert in CA) and have been very happy with the operation and performance. I think those are running about $1K now. Two guys have the Mitchell and are very happy with them. They are $1700 now and one fella has the 4 speed transmission and also likes it very much, I think that ran him around $2500.

There are pros and cons to all the units, but so far I very happy with the Borg-Warner unit mounted in a Model A torq tube. I have over 15000 miles with NO problems.
