mike flanagan made some real good points about buying used rearends.i'd still go with used though.what i should have said was i'd find a used rearend AND rebuild it.you know your current rearend has gone through some pretty high torque, metal fatiqueing (sp?) experiences.even a hard driven, worn out rearend would not have seen that and might be better.but, how do you know that the used one you buy hasn't got a missing pinon tooth etc? the other reason i'd get a second rearend is that you can rebuild at your lesiure and won't have your car up on blocks while you are working.any time i have the front or rearend out from under the car i worry.just my opinon. worth every penny you paid. |
