Anthony,
I share your concern as well as others who have written. I'm glad to see young folks like Brian who are interested in Model A's. I have two teenagers who have grown up looking out the windows of a Model A on tours and even driven it many times. My daughter who is now 18 and at college has received the youngest driver award at the Texas Tour and a local tour. My son is working on a '30 pick up (when he isn't working on a '53 Chevy p/u daily driver). Some of the local clubs give grants to teenagers who are working on Model A's, $500 or so. Another club gives a college scholarship to teenagers of club members. These are all incentives. Most of the under 40 crowd I know have been around a dad, granddad or uncle who have had or have a Model A. It is hard to compete with the muscle cars and street rods because of their "power appeal". But there are a few like Brian who have stuck to their guns and work on them. Parts are just as easy to find as a '69 Camaro or '66 Mustang and most time are simpler to work on. There is hope but it's going to take a lot of effort. MAFCA did have a teen group, headed mostly by Patti Jones from N. California and her daughter, Jennifer. I haven't noticed much about it lately.
When I was a teenager, I had an "old timer" and now I have another one who gives me advice and I look up to them for caring enough to spend the time to pass on the torch.
John
