Bob is right, $1250 won't do a "complete" engine rebuild. A balanced short block recently cost me $1350 in parts and labor and that's reusing my pistons. Add to this the cost of the head work and the gasket kit and the... you get the picture.

: I don't know if this message got outbefore. I am a complete noviceabout automobile engines. I have recentlylocated a 31 roadster and in conversation with the owner hestated that he had recently spent $1250 on th4 engine and it was now 60 thousanths oversize. Is this a bad thing and what can I expect in longevity from such an engine?
