i'd vote for a good used rearend. (hmmmm...no won't go there)
if there was enough force to shear a tooth off the pinon, and wedge itself on the ring gear, i would be suspect of the bearings in the drive shaft and axle shafts.also most anyting could be bent.i'd hate to put in a new ring and pinon set and then find out everything else was bent or ???
