: I don't know if this message got outbefore. I am a complete noviceabout automobile engines. I have recentlylocated a 31 roadster and in conversation with the owner hestated that he had recently spent $1250 on th4 engine and it was now 60 thousanths oversize. Is this a bad thing and what can I expect in longevity from such an engine?
There is nothing wrong with a 60 over engine, the only thing that can hurt an A engine is cracks. The block was probably .020 oversize before it was rebuilt. These blocks can be bored to 125 thousands over with no problem, and then be sleeved back to standard.
