I run a Warford in a 28 AA express bed truck. The Warford auxillary transmition will add about 12 MPH to the speed of a AA truck. They are usually a bit or very noisy at speed depending on the amount of wear in the gears. There is a nice picture of one in a 30-31 AA truck in the book about Ford Model A and AA Trucks which is available from any Model A parts house. They aren't too hard to install but you do have to take out the rear end. Warford transmissions for a AA are VERY rare and hard to find. It took me many phone calls and lots of asking before one finally surfaced (one good natured AA owner told me I had a better chance of winning the lotery). The going price is anywhere from about $250 (ha) to around $500 or more. Keep watching Hemmings, too. They list a couple each year but they go immediately. I'll be happy to answer any more specific questions.
Good luck!
