Living in Minnesota, I can't drive the car during the winter months. This is pretty much from November till March.Storing the "A" was a big concern for me so I started asking. Here are the things that were recommended.

1) Antifreeze - Since you need to prevent the car from freezing and stored in an unheated garage, you've got to use it.I know there are a lot of people who will hate me for telling you to use it but even a small amount of water in the engine can cause big problems.

2) Remove the battery - Store it in a warm place and not on a cement floor.Put on a trickle charger at least once a month and watch the cells to make sure they stay full and don't boil.

3) Get the car off the ground - By getting in on jack stands you won't start your first trip with a flat spot on the tires.

4) Gas Stablizer -Fill the tank with fresh gas and put in a stablizer. This will displace all of the water that can be in the fuel system.

5) Cover the car - Now that you have a nice finish on the love of your life, you don't want to find that a bird found it also.

and lastly... This was given to me by a gentleman that has the nicest looking Model "A" I've ever seen...
6) Take the plugs out and spray WD40 in the plug hole then turn the plugs in just lightly. He claims that it will prevent any valve from sticking when you first start it up.Made sense so I did it also.

I'm not about to drive my "A" with snow or ice on the ground so storing it was my only option.I check her often and hopefully she will greet me next spring with a nice purr.
