Jim,
I have a late 31 deluxe coupe and it has a "logo" stamped in the sheet metal under the indent at the lower corner where the firewall meets the cowl as seen from the engine compartment. I don't remember what it was exactly but I'll get back with that one. Don't know about Manufacture.

: Did more than one body manufacturer make bodys for the late 31 coupe ? if so, how do you identify them ?
