engine number a740825 was built in december of 1928.most engines were built in the rouge plant in detroit (some in canada and the uk).they were stock piled and then shipped then stock piled at the assembly plants.there were a large number of engines in float, lower numbered engines could have been used in later cars, and were not sequential. i.e. a december built engine could be used in a january or feburary car.check the drivers side firewall, engine compartment side, just above the split between the lower firewall and the gas tank.many times the date the body was set on the frame is stamped there. sounds like you have a december 28 vehicle (or your 28 could be a 29)

: I took the following number from the engine of my '28 roadster pick up: A7 40825.What can be determined from this number?
