Hi ed -

You didn't say if you had changed also to 12 volts. If you did, then you doubled the capacity of your wiring automatically. The "A"s are wired pretty heavy by today's standards anyway, so re-wiring is pretty much to replace questionable insulation since it gets pretty bad in 60 years.

About the only thing I'd recommend to heavy up on would be the Alternator to battery wire, increasing to a #10 gage to carry the full capacity of the alternator in case you run the battery down and spend a long time in high charge.

If the bodywork on your car has been restored (everything off, everything cleaned off, painted, re-assembled) it's probably not necessary, but for cars that haven't been apart lately, it's a good idea to carry a ground conductor into the Headlights and taillights since the electrical connection through the bodywork may be questionable (of course you can't do this with original wiring methods, but I'm not a purist). I also recommend a grounding conductor (battery cable) between the battery ground point and the motor - preferably right to one of the starter bolts (since I don't like starting current flowing theough my pinion bearings).
