Your friend either:
1. Can't drive.
2. Can't tune.
3. Has a mis-matched parts combination.
I know of a lot of full-bodied "special" engined T's that will run circles around A's.
If you don't want to go fast in your A, that's your choice. But, you're missing half the fun of the hobby...improving the breed. Give me a half painted, no upholstery, Winfield motored A over a concours resto any day. To each his own.
